The title is translated from a book called Beauty Is A Wound by Eka Kurniawan. The work itself incorporates different aspects of the Malay culture like batik, wayang kulit and the Rencong script. The gap containing the Rencong script symbolises a wound that carries heartfelt sentiments within it.
